The 15m. steel cruising barge started as a personal dream, but has stimulated a large amount of interest. Steel shells are now being built by South Holland Marine . The design is based on the Dutch Luxemotor barges but using a double chine hull to simplify construction.
The first boat, 'Kajala', was launched in 2006 and is moored at Goole on the Humber. Three 60footers are currently in build together with a 57footer which has been designed for use on Ireland's inland waterways system.
